What to Pack

How Much to Pack

Preparing for a World Cruise can be challenging, especially for first-timers. Two large suitcases and a carry-on per person should be sufficient. While most world cruises stay near the equator, bring a sweater or jacket for cooler days when venturing to higher latitudes. Don't forget to pack something to keep you dry, such as a small umbrella, as the weather in port can be unpredictable.

Don't pack too much formalwear

While world cruises are generally more formal, it's not necessary to overpack formalwear. For women, a few long dresses and a couple of cocktail dresses would be sufficient, as there will be ample shopping opportunities along the way. Men can bring one tuxedo, a suit, or a sports jacket, along with an assortment of ties to spruce up their outfits. When staying at a pre-cruise hotel, it's advisable to pack outfits for the first day or two on top for easy access before boarding the ship.

Mix and match

By opting for a cohesive color palette, like a black base with black and white t-shirts, trousers, and a light cotton sweater in a vibrant hue, you can create a mix-and-match wardrobe that maximizes your packing space and eliminates the need to remember specific outfit combinations. Additionally, consider packing versatile outfits that can be dressed down with comfortable walking shoes for port excursions and dressed up with accessories, such as scarves, for dinner on board, allowing you to pack fewer outfits overall.

Pack for Port Days

When preparing for your cruise, don't forget to consider your outfits for exploring the ports. For instance, while visiting the Middle East, remember to pack appropriate clothing like long-sleeved shirts and ankle-length trousers for mosque visits in Muscat, as well as durable pants and shoes for riding donkeys in Petra. Also, remember to bring a light scarf for women or a hat for men to comply with religious customs or shield yourself from the sun.
One more thing

When it comes to packing for your trip, it's always a good idea to bring an empty expandable bag. Why? Well, once you set foot onboard, you never know how many amazing souvenirs or new clothes you might find yourself wanting to bring back home. That's where the extra bag comes in handy. It gives you the flexibility to easily accommodate any goodies you acquire during your trip, making your disembarkation at the end of the journey a breeze. So, make sure to leave some space in your suitcase for that expandable bag. Happy travels!
